Anthony Hernandez

Storyboard Path – 2025

Anthony Hernandez is a Mexican American story artist from Palmdale, California – a desert city where there is very little to do but open a sketchbook to draw all day and watch the tumbleweeds blow. Anthony took it upon himself to find the magic in the mundane with the power of storytelling and found solace in the worlds inside of his imagination. His adventure into storytelling began with library trips and gaming marathons as a kid, which fueled his insatiable curiosity for engaging narratives. As a child, Anthony was glued to television shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Gravity Falls, and animated films like Tarzan, The Iron Giant, Ratatouille, and Spirited Away. These unique stories, along with so many others, sparked a fire in him and helped him uncover the true magical power of animation.

His deep interest in storytelling and animation only continued to grow as he took a history of animation course during his time at CSU Long Beach. He realized that the medium of animation was the perfect fusion for his love of visual arts and storytelling. A space where bold ideas and deep emotions could be brought to life in ways that felt both fantastical and unbelievably real. Anthony decided he wanted to pursue a career in the animation industry and found himself gravitating toward character design and storyboarding. After graduating from CSU Long Beach with a BFA in pre-production for animation, Anthony continued his artistic journey outside of school by enrolling himself in online storyboard classes taught by industry professionals. He took storyboard classes from Schoolism, Brainstorm School, and even The Animation Collaborative. Nothing could stop him from wanting to be the best story artist he could become.

Now, Anthony’s on a mission to shake up the animation world with fresh, diverse perspectives and tales that leave a lasting impression. Whether it is making people laugh, diving into wild adventures, or experiencing a touch of magic, he’s all about crafting stories that can ultimately resonate with viewers. With a sharp eye for detail and a heart full of passion, Anthony’s ready to create narratives that stay with you long after the screen goes dark.
